Spring is here – and with it come water use restrictions.
All CVRD and municipal water systems will enter Stage 1 Water Use Restrictions as scheduled on May 1.
New for this year:
- Mill Bay Water District and Cowichan Bay Waterworks will be co-ordinating their water use restrictions with CVRD and municipal systems throughout the Cowichan Valley
- Sprinkling times (Stage 1 and Stage 2) are now from 7-9 am OR 7-9 pm on your designated days.
- Weeper hoses are now permitted for watering trees, gardens, and shrubs for up to 4 hours per day during all stages of water restrictions. Soaker hoses are not permitted.
- Washing houses is not permitted during Stage 2 or Stage 3 restrictions, except in preparation for applying paint or preservatives.
